Biography

Welsh harpist Elfair Grug Dyer recently returned to the UK after two years in Bangkok, Thailand, where she served as harp teacher and harpist-in-residence at the Tamnak Prathom Harp Centre, supported by the Thai Royal Family. During her time there, she performed extensively, including at Bangkok’s prestigious Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

With over a decade of experience, Elfair has performed at weddings, civil ceremonies, corporate events, and concerts. Her solo career includes appearances at venues such as the Bridgewater Hall and performances of Debussy’s Danses, Mathias’ Harp Concerto, and Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto.

Elfair holds a Master’s degree from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) and a first-class BMus degree, earning recognition as one of RNCM’s top performers. She has won major Welsh competitions, including the Llangollen International Musical Festival’s Main Instrumentalist and the Blue Ribbon Open Instrumental at the National Eisteddfod.

A member of the CLOUDS Harp Quartet, Elfair has toured widely and released multiple recordings. She is also active in outreach work through Live Music Now, bringing harp music to audiences across the UK. Born in Mynytho on the Llŷn Peninsula, Elfair’s Welsh heritage continues to inspire her flourishing career.
